Footsteps to Theatre

Footsteps to Theatre funds high-quality performing, music and theatre arts education and exciting opportunities for young people in South Cumbria.

Our mission is simple: to connect young theatre enthusiasts in our area to wider experiences.

We believe in fair opportunities for everyone. Our members come from all backgrounds, and everybody is welcome, regardless of whether they have prior experience or not.

We’re all about supporting young people’s aspirations and opening doors to the kind of experiences that are often inaccessible to people in our remote area, either geographically, financially, or both.

We’re here to shine a light on alternative paths into the industry too, and raise awareness of other ways to make a career in theatre, other than treading the boards. A core part of all of our projects is helping young people develop a variety of transferable skills that they can then take into any career in their future.

Footsteps to Theatre is the non-profit branch of Cumbria Curtain Call, with the sole purpose of raising money to help fund and facilitate these kinds of opportunities.

We run a variety of fundraising events throughout the year, and are currently raising money to fund our next production at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2027.

We'd love to meet you at one of our upcoming fundraisers:
